It’s an OK City… but the showers are nice! – 1249hrs

Okay…I know bad pun for the posts’ title (as you’ll soon read), so grin and bear it!  🙂

Got rolled out of Riverside, CA yesterday without a hitch… rolling into the Flagstaff area where I switched it back to Knucklehead… he rolled us along merrily on our way to Alanreed, Ok… yeah..I’ve never heard of it either.  Long story…made longer to fill in some blog space… I drove a whole whopping 3 hours for my shift tonight… all the way to Oklahoma City, OK where we bedded down for the night and I got a shower (Knucklehead got one this morning) at the TA here… have to say, if you’re ever in this area and for some strange reason can’t resist the urge to suddenly shower, I’d highly recommend the TA here.  The showers are large compared to most, very clean, well maintained and fairly modern.  The water is hot, not conditioned and if you hit this time of night…there’s no lines or waiting!  🙂

So… (brace yourself Effy!)…it’s an OK City… but the showers are nice!

Onward and upward (well, actually South) for Knucklehead in the morning… 50 miles to Pauls Valley, OK where we do the first of the two stops on this load.  From here, we’re going to head to the yard to take care of a few things… maybe we’ll get to drop this load in the yard, and get another cross-country one.

After talking to the travel agent (dispatch) the other day and figuring in what we’ve done this week… I’m now officially-un-officially at around somewhere near 11,500 miles to go!  Whooo Hooo!  With our weeks averageing around 5000 miles a week…I just MIGHT get this done before Christmas “break”… but I’m not holding my breath!

Now that you’re here, turn-around and leave the way you came – 1437hrs

We got our load into Pico Rivera, CA delivered this morning… we came in via I40 to I15 to I10…  almost as soon as we got unloaded we got our next load (which is a GOOD thing!)… pick-up in Riverside, CA going to Pauls Valley, OK and a 2nd stop in Mobeley, MO.  Which means we have to get loaded, then take I10, to I15, to… yup, I40 right back the way we came!

S’all good though… more miles means getting to go solo sooner!  So, we’re now sitting outside the shipper in Riverside, CA… having to kill about an hour before they’ll let us in the gate.  Then we’ll be off and running again!
