Still… “On The Road Again” – 1752hrs

Posted by admin on Feb 21, 2010 in Bus / Coach

Got back at a relatively decent hour last night from Williamstown… got a late run tonight… 2130hrs reporting time… gotta head down to PWM to pick up a load of Bates kids and bring them back to the college.  Supposed to be back to the shop around 2330hrs… nice short, easy night and it’s worth at least 4 hours regardless if it actually takes me less!  🙂

Don’t have anything scheduled for Monday – Wednesday at the moment… taking Wednesday off regardless

It’s been for-EVA

Posted by admin on Feb 19, 2010 in Bus / Coach, Where Am I?

Been a very long time dear avid reader… too long I’m sure!  Do you even check this anymore… you’ve probably given up on the adventure of the GeekTrucker, but alas I shall post some more adventures in case you have a morbid curiosity!

To sum up since the last post I made… I worked camp runs and such, then cruise ships in Bar Harbor a lot… until November.  Then the bus thing dropped dead.  And I do mean dead… not a single thing between November 20th or so and last week!  Been a tough long winter… but alas, things are starting to pick back up.

Had a run day before yesterday… picked up a load of Brits (teenage boys from an all boys school south of London) in Lincoln, NH.  We stopped in Tilton, NH for an hour or so to let them hit the outlets…then down to Boston.  We stayed at the Midtown Hotel in Boston… DIVE to say the least!  TINY rooms would be another good adjective!  Toured them Boston all day yesterday, Fenway, Faneuil Hall, USS Constitution before dumping them off at the airport and heading north.

Today I’ve got a load of Bates woman’s basketball that are at Williams College in Williamstown, MA for the night.  Getting back late tomorrow night after the game…

Sunday I have to pick up a load of Bates athletes at the Portland Jetport and bring them back to Lewiston… late arrival / drop-off.

That’s about all for now dear avid reader… I’ll try and be more regular about posting…even if a day later.

Busy Days – 2129hrs

Posted by admin on Jun 27, 2009 in Bus / Coach

Been a busy couple of days..  Got back Wednesday from DC… had a “quick” run to Camp Laurel – South in Poland on Thursday… except N38 died on me in the middle of taking a corner (Egypt Road in Raymond)… with 28 8 – 10 year olds!  NOT a fun time… the other bus came back and picked up the kids while I waited for the mechanic to show up and diagnose the problem.  Long story short… mechanic shows up.. manages to fire the old girl up, checks the fluids, and tells me to drive her home and let him know if I have any more problems.  Well, made back to the garage JUST at the original scheduled time so it all worked out and no further problems!  One of those days I guess!

Friday was an easy double run from Portland Jetport to Tripp Lake in Poland using the mini-bus… no problems there.

Today was another “easy” run… got use the really nice 803 MCI bus… I was part of a four-bus pickup on the tarmac (yes ON the taxi-way) of kids going to Camp Laurel – North in Mt. Vernon… nice comfy run in that newer bus!

Right now I’m not scheduled for anything this week.. and have requested the 3rd, 4th, and 5th off as my sweetie and I are diappearing off the face of the earth for a much needed R&R!

That’s it for now….
