Where Am I? Well…I’ve bumped my first dock and they’re unloading my first load. With the exception of paking last night at the TA for some dinner… I’ve driven all 599 miles of this load! So far it’s been good…a little boring actually (which is actually VERY good!) and altogether quite the adventure!
It’s definitely no cube I’m driving and THAT my friends is what it’s all about! I’ve already seen some very pretty country-side in Kentucky… and tackled some serious, long hills that required a lot of shifting. Yeah..still grinding them gears…but grinding them less? I think so… so that’s an improvement!
So we’ve hunkered down at this WalMart DC while they’re unloading us… should be about two hours, then we’ll head up towards Cinncinaty, OH to drop this trailer off. I think the plan is to head up the road a bit and then bed down about dinner time until early tomorrow morning and head out then.

Where Am I? We’ve bedded down for the night at a YA in Mt. Vernon… so far today 285 miles! We’re almost half-way there and will push through tomorrow to finish it off… the load has to be there by 1600hrs… but no sooner than 1400hrs…
Downshifting still sucks… but the driving’s improving!

Where Am I? Sitting at a Love’s truckstop at X189 on I44 EB. I’ve driven all 100 or so miles from Springfield, heading to Kentucky. We’ve holed up here for a couple of hours so that when we hit St. Louis about two hours away, it’s around 1900hrs and rush hour traffic should have passed some! Yippee for me!
Had two good “pucker-factor” moments… one was during a construction zone where they took the highway down to one lane, then pushed us over onto the WB side…OVER THE FRIGGIN BRIDGE!!
Second time was actually worse… getting off the highway and getting this thing woahed up for the light. My downshifting sucks! Oh well…that’ll come in time.
Other than that…pretty uneventful… my upshifting is okay…driving’s not bad!
